Quando lançou “BTSTU”, depois sampleada pelo Drake, pela Beyoncé, gerando convite pra participar no disco de Big Boi, o britânico Jai Paul não podia imaginar que seu grande momento viria do vazamento das músicas do seu primeiro disco.

Essa semana o disco homônimo, aguardado desde 2007, apareceu a venda numa página no Bandcamp. Só que não era uma estratégia da XL Recordings ou pressa do Jai Paul, as música foram upadas e estavam sendo vendidas sem autorização.

O produtor correu para o Twitter pra pedir para os fãs não comprarem seu disco (olha onde chegamos!) e as músicas saíram da página. Agora ninguém sabe se é o disco ou não, numa confusão que já vem lá de trás.

É de se pensar se essa foi a melhor atitude (excluindo, claro, o fato que alguém estava vendendo as faixas ilegalmente).

Ao tirar as músicas, Jai está desperdiçando a repercussão positiva que elas tiveram e não tirando proveito da exposição que teve com o caso. Afinal, o disco sai logo mais e vai estar disponível pra baixar, sem muitas dificuldades. Talvez fosse melhor aproveitar a onda que subiu do nada.
