Como a China está mudando sua internet

Um vídeo feito pelo jornal The New York Times mostra como a China, antes tida como uma simples imitadora de sites e aplicativos, devido a restrição da internet, imposta pelo governo ditador, se tornou referência para os países ocidentais na criação de novos modelos e ideias tecnológicas. O que o WeChat faz é espantoso.

Vem aí o acesso grátis a internet (e não se deve comemorar)

Provedores e operadoras restringem o acesso a banda larga dos usuários para “combater” o uso do WhatsApp e Netflix (Vivo e GVT já começaram). A prática, tbm conhecida como traffic shaping, faz o acesso a algumas das principais plataformas digitais cair.

Para contra atacar, as principais empresas online do planeta oferecem acesso “gratuito” a internet (Facebook já faz isso em diversos países, Netflix oferece wifi exclusiva em alguns aeroportos dos EUA, Amazon.com idem), para que seus usuários continuem utilizando seu serviços sem restrições. O acesso a rede torna-se gratuito. “Viva! Finalmente!”.

Viva? Não há almoço grátis. As teles e cabos tentam recuar e, sendo tarde demais, acabam quebrando, pois agora o povo gostou do acesso grátis, mesmo com limitações (olha o traffic shaping aí de novo) e não quer mais pagar pelo serviço.

O acesso a internet é gratuito, mas agora tem dono. Se você acha que essas empresas já se impõe demais na rede, imagina quando puderem de fato escolherem quais sites você pode ou não acessar. Está achando muito não poder postar mamilos? Piora.

(Isso é apenas um ensaio sobre um cenário possível)
