Atomic Tom are a Universal signing managed by Shari Reich, A&R at Jive/Zomba (Did someone say “conflict of interest”?). Sorta like USB 2.0, Atomic Tom are The Killers 2.0. Shari would know as she was A&R for The Killers. By now, the latter band is reportedly heading for the proverbial scrapheap, their reputation shot after some “no-shows” at major festivals.
Shari has a neat side business with “A&R Live” where bands/artists pay $485.00 for her to listen to their songs. Wow!! That’s really strange to me, as that’s what Jive are already paying her to do. Here’s the link to that scam.
Shop for record deal! Guarantee your music heard by a record company A&R for deal consideration – call 770-696-9100!
Check out all the A&R mugshots. From where I’m sitting, this crew look like a bunch of the biggest thieves, pimps and wh*r*s in the music business.
So let’s be clear here. This is one of these fake “viral” video happenings which the marketing teams at the major labels have all caught onto. Think “the people that bought you the Chris Brown Wedding video”. It’s about as Live as a Britney Spears concert. Lip-synching and all. No surprises here.
The back story would have us believe that the band had their gear stolen (an irrelevant side-story really .. if it’s actually true), hence the premise for this “iPod sponsored infommercial”. Shot on location “on The B-Train riding over The Brooklyn Bridge” (Btw, the B-Train doesn’t cross the Brooklyn Bridge .. But .. Whatever ..)
The US entertainment and record industry is simply accelerating it’s decline into a corporate “Sodom & Gommorrah”. My own belief is that more and more people are waking-up and smelling the coffee.
People of America .. Please Dump this s**t at the bottom of The Hudson River where it belongs. For some more analysis of this train wreck, go to Bob Leftsetz’s music industry blog : http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/
People will still smell out real music made by real musician’s when floating in a sea of S**t like this.
